Causes, Effects, and Symptoms of TBI
TBI can be acquired in many ways and can be life-altering or even fatal if left untreated. According to the CDC, moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries can lead to a lifetime of physical, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral changes. People with TBI are also more likely to abuse alcohol or illicit drugs and die from seizures, accidental drug poisoning, infections, and pneumonia.
